We not only take furniture; we sell fine china,
silver, glass, and interesting accessories.

We also have pictures,
paintings, area carpets,
lamps and much more.

 How We Work

Consignment split:

Residential furnishings:
55% to Consignors. 45% to Of Things Past.

Prices on merchandise are held firm for 60 days. Thereafter, prices will be reduced as follows:
15% after 60 days
10% every 30 days thereafter
After 6 months items will be priced at our discretion.

Merchandise remains the consignor's until sold.
The consignor may take back merchandise at any time, however items must be picked up within one week as storage charges will apply. After one year, unsold items may be donated.

There is a $20 appraisal fee for home appointments, which is refunded on the consignor's first cheque.
Cheques are created the first week of the month following the sale of merchandise and mailed to the consignor.

Administration fee: $2 on cheques under $100, $5 on cheques over $100.

Delivery of the merchandise to our showroom is the responsibility of the consignor. We will be pleased to recommend reliable and reasonable movers.

Our Customers are savvy shoppers, looking for interesting, unique and quality merchandise at good value. Often our consignors are our purchasers as well. The fact that merchandise is always changing, brings back a loyal following week after week.

We cater to people with a good sense of design and a good knowledge of the market. A large number of our customers are interior designers and architects. By and large, we seem to have items for every type of taste and decor.

Comments we hear often are that our showroom is decorated and maintained as if it were a designer showroom. That is our primary intention. We have created a beautiful environment and atmosphere in which our customers can browse and shop. Our customers not only return again and again, but also bring in friends to show them their great find.

Of course, the main feature of our business is that we choose our merchandise very carefully so that we have an interesting and exciting collection at all times. This is what our purchasers expect, and from their enthusiasm we know we are providing this.
